The Campbell lab will be attending the 2022 Entomological Society of America's annual meeting in Vancouver. If you are interested in us and the work we have been doing recently, come and see our talks on Monday and Wednesday. We are also excited for this opportunity to meet and catch up with our colleagues and friends and can't wait to see you there!

Oral presentations by the Campbell Lab at Entsoc2022:

  • Effects of season on vector mosquito species abundances: Implications for understanding temporal patterns in mosquito community data
    Amy | Monday, November 14, 2022, 11:06 AM – 11:18 AM PT

  • Investigating spatiotemporal distributions of West Nile virus in sentinel chicken coops during an active transmission season in Florida
    Yasmin | Monday, November 14, 2022, 11:30 AM – 11:42 AM PT

  • Investigating spatiotemporal population dynamics of West Nile virus mosquito vectors at a broad geographic scale
    Lindsay | Wednesday, November 16, 2022, 3:06 PM – 3:18 PM PT

What a beautiful day! Yasmin is the first graduate student of the Campbell lab to successfully defend her master thesis research. After presenting an amazing seminar talk about her work on "Investigating environmental associations with West Nile virus spatiotemporal distributions in Florida" to her committee, colleagues, friends and family on "Investigating environmental associations with West Nile virus spatiotemporal distributions in Florida" she went on to ace her thesis defense. We are very impresed with all the work she did these past two years and are very of her and her accomplishments!

We are happy to announce that both our graduate students were awarded a scholarship from the University of Florida College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (CALS) for the 2022-2023 academic year. Amy received a William C. and Bertha M. Cornett Fellowship, while Yasmin was awarded a Doris and Earl Lowe and Verna Lowe Scholarship! Thank you to the generous donors and the representative for both scholarships, CALS Dean Dr. Turner.
