Data Organization and Visualization

The Campbell Lab engages with stakeholders across mosquito control and public health providing consultations and trainings on using open source tools to organize and visualize mosquito trap and sentinel chicken collections for improved prevention and control.

Dodd Short Courses

QGIS is an open source and free geographic information systems (GIS) program. For two years in a row, the Campbell Lab has offered an Introduction to QGIS training course for mosquito control district personnel focused importing and mapping mosquito trap data. Click on the Learn More button to download free available course materials that provide installation instructions, example data, and step-by-step instructions, including software screen shots used in the course.

The Mosquito BEACONS Working Group

Dr. Campbell serves as co-Project Director of the Mosquito BEACONS (Biodiversity Enhancement and Control of Non-native Species) Working Group, focused facilitating communication regarding non-native mosquito species across the southern US, prioritizing training for stakeholders and the general public, and identifying shared research priorities.

 

The Mosquito BEACONS Working Group is funded through the Southern IPM Center through the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture Crop Protection and Pest Management Regional Coordination Program (Agreement No. 2018-70006-28884).
